The luckiest Chinese Zodiac sign to win the lotto has been revealed

New research has revealed which of the 12 Zodiac signs is the luckiest (and unluckiest) when it comes to winning the lotto.

It has been long believed that the Rabbit is the luckiest Chinese Zodiac sign, however new research may show otherwise.

According to data collected by Australia’s official lottery provider, the Lott, those born in the year of the Rat were the luckiest when it came to winning the lotto last year.

The data found players who were born in the year of the Rat landed the most division one wins – 43 to be exact – in the 12 months ending 31 December 2019.

Division 1 is the top lottery prize, with a player having to match all seven winning Lotto numbers on a single line of their ticket in order to win. The chance of winning is 1 in 45,379,620. That’s nearly 46 million!

The Goat was the Zodiac sign that had the second highest number of wins in 2019 with 39, closely followed by the Dragon with 38 wins.

Unfortunately, the Snake and Dog turned out to be the unluckiest in 2019, with only 30 wins each, along with the Tiger and Rooster who tallied 31 wins each.

January 25, 2020, marks the start of a new zodiac cycle bringing us to the Year of the Rat. 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984 and 1996 are the years of the people born in the zodiac sign.

According to Chinese New Year, people born in the Rat year are optimistic, energetic and likeable by all.

“Rats are clever, quick thinkers; successful, but content with living a quiet and peaceful life,” the site states.

“Their personality is kind, but due to weak communication skills, their words may seem impolite and rude. On the financial side, they like saving and can be stingy. However, their love for hoarding will sometimes cause them to waste money on unnecessary things.”
